Yes! It’s not uncommon to have different versions of your cover letter when applying for different jobs, and it can be the same when applying for an appointed position. Cover letters are a great way to show off qualifications and experience a citizen may have that their resume may not showcase, like having a disability, volunteering at the local library, or being the loved one of someone battling addiction. We’ll ask for the citizen's cover letter for each position they apply for which means they can have different cover letters for different positions.
