The security and privacy of your county or municipality and its citizens are of paramount importance to MatchBoard. We have taken a number of steps to ensure your data is protected.
Servers & Traffic
Matchboard is built using Amazon Web Services and follows AWS’s recommended security procedures.
AWS Security Documentation:
Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)
Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)
Matchboard utilizes up-to-date versions of server and client-side software using best practices to ensure user data is secure.
All network traffic is HTTPS SSL compliant using TLSv1.2, the newest SSL protocol version supported by OpenSSH on z/VSE.
Data
All data input by your county or municipality is be deemed to be owned by your county or municipality. If at some point you choose to opt-out, all data will be returned to you or deleted, as chosen by you in writing.
IFrame
Matchboard gives administrators the option to embed an IFrame into their own website, allowing users to view available boards for that entity on the entity’s own website. Using an embedded IFrame that has a source from a trusted domain that is different from the hosts triggers browser’s cross-domain policies, which maintains a separation between your site and Matchboard’s IFrame. Because of these policies, Matchboard is prevented from accessing your website’s DOM, cookies, or local storage.
Passwords
Passwords are required to be 8 characters long, a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, with at least one number and one special character. Passwords are hashed using the bcrypt hashing algorithms.
