Applications are routed to the entity’s administrative users, usually the Clerk to Council. They will review the application to ensure that everything is in order. They may then opt to forward the application to the entity’s decision-makers (council and manager/administrator/mayor) or other appointing authorities (Governor’s office, legislative delegation, etc.). It is also common for applications to be downloaded and provided in council meeting agenda packets for council members to review when voting on appointments.
